Received it today. Seemed lighter than most leathers, also slicker than most leathers to the touch. Hard to say the quality as I’m not an expert. But having worked with leather it just doesn’t feel right. I’ll probably send it back just because it just doesn’t feel right to me but the colors are amazing and it looks really great. Maybe I’m just a little picky.I ordered a PU desk mat earlier in the week which looked fairly fake. Thought I could do better and so I ordered this.This thing is extremely nice leather. Great texture and color. Smooth surface. No smell. Plenty thick enough. My mx master 3 slides well on it. 36x18”.The catch is that it doesn’t lay flat on your desk (maybe a byproduct of being real cowhide). You can see in my picture it is flat in the back but not in the front and even with smoothing it out I don’t think it will ever lay flat in it’s current condition.I will update this review if that changes. Maybe the leather will acclimate. The PU had some roll marks which went away, maybe this will change as it lays flat too.But it’s beautiful if you can get past the not laying flat part.Update:Received the replacement mat and it sits flat (see second picture). This mat is great. I will say that there is a slight smell but it’s not intoxicating or anything too strong (it starts to develop after a few days I think). The size is also more like 35.5x17.5”. Overall the second mat I received looks just as nice and sits flat so I am even more happy than the first time.I bought this to go on a front hall table to protect the wood of the table. The coloring is a nice rich chocolate brown. It’s done beautifully! It’s the real thing as well. Not faked out ‘vegan leather’. What a stupid term. I highly, highly recommend this product! Thank you for making such a lovely item! I’m so super happy with it!with youre forearms constantly leaning on your desk, i find it shocking the makers overlooked beveling the edges a bit more. like other reviewers stated, the edges can dig into your arms making this extremely uncomfortable. i give 1 star back for the leather meeting my expectations, but otherwise poorly crafted.Nice soft and genuine quality desk mat. Its actually decently heavy which can hold up the desk. I would not buy which is below1.5 pounds and not specifically PU leather.it's a great quality piece of well tanned leather. the edges are very sharp, can rub my forearm over timeThis is a great desk cover. Other reviews complained of marking which it does occur but is quite simple to fix with a little neutral shoe polish which keeps the leather supple and removes all the marks. It looks fabulous on my desk and is great at protecting my desk. It also works extremely well as a mouse pad too. I would highly recommend this product.Does what i needed it to do.Great product. Love that it is a natural product, I think it's real Leather, but I'm not 100% sure.It does not give off any weird odor, like paint/petroleum, which is found in most products today. Nothing gassing off. Not even a leather odor, some may be sensitive to that also, if there was a leather odor I personally would not mind. Which makes me think maybe it's not really 100% all leather. Closest I could find. It is a good large piece. Works great under my keyboard and I don't need a mouse pad. There is lots of room. I believe it's worth it.The product is not bad as the leather is real, soft and smooth. However, it arrived with many scuff marks and very easy to scuff. It probably needs a protective coating.The product is fine. It is a thin piece of leather. It is tanned and stitched but expensive for what you get.Gorgeous desk mat. Great quality. Feels great to the touch and looks even better.
