I did not even try to mount this. It has an odd design, where the brackets are attached too far back, so when you attach this to be even with the edge of your desk, the front will unavoidably stick out a good four inches, thereby catching on your clothes/legs/little kids' and pets' heads.The other thing I didn't like was the slightly rough, almost pebbled surface. I felt it would take very little time before it irritated the skin on my hands.It did seem much sturdier than most of the cheaper options, though. If you stand away from the desk top and you have tough skin, or you use a mouse pad and wrist rest, you might not need to care about these issues.I bought the Sauder Via Collection tray instead.
