Apartment living doesn't lend itself to a real piano and I haven't played in years but I broke down and ordered a portable keyboard. It worked fine but was a bit awkward to use without a stand. This does the job. Sturdy enough and a real plus is that it folds down and can be hidden away in a closet when there is company so no space is wasted.I got this for my wife to use with our other keyboard, since my daughter got a new keyboard, and stole the stand, seat, and everything else for her room. This is comparable quality to other stands we've had. It sets up and adjusts super easy. I'm not a huge fan of the little music holder. When you put it on, it goes onto the arms that hold the keyboard. There's enough room for it to attach at the back, but it just feels very minimalist. It works and will surely hold a music book or a few pages of sheet music. I have metal music stands that are much nicer, and I can just stand one right behind the keyboard. One leg has a blue foot on it. In some pictures from other reviewers, they have the whole thing upside down, lol. The blue foot is a cam shaped rubber foot. You can rotate this blue one to help level the stand on uneven floors. Works great, just looks really silly seeing people put the feet of this stand upwards, lol.It has big teeth on the leg adjusters, and they grab firm. It's a sturdy stand, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again. The instructions are not worth much, but it is easy enough to figure out using the pictures on the Amazon site. One of the things not covered is the fact of which is the top and which is the bottom of the stand? Unless you have used something like this before it is a good question. If you look at the open X you will notice that only one foot has a blue foot. That section is the bottom of the unit. The Blue foot is odd shaped to allow you to rotate it to balance the other three feet for a level playing and stable playing surface. The rubber ends on the top side of the unti slide back and forth allowing you to mount the sheet music stand. The problem with the entire thing is that it is build for a right handed person. So, what else is new?The music stand is much better than the one included on the piano keyboard in that it has clips to hold the music open to the correct page. If you are using a book or sheet music where there is any wind, the clips make a world of difference. I would use this over the piano sheet holder anyway. The pivot point of the unit that allows it to fold flat or to open to various heights i two adjustment levers, one on each X of the unit. if you loot at picture three you will notice that there are indents that the unit locks into when you tighten it which Keeps the unit from moving once set. This provides a very stable playing surface. The keyboard I am using is a full 88 key keyboard. So, this works with both shorter and full size keyboards. The only thing that would make this nicer besides the ability to rotate the music stand to present it at an angle would be shoulder bag for carrying and storing.I am VERY pleased with this stand and would recommend it.I got this for my kid's digital piano. This is a very sturdy stand. The piano we are using it for is very light, more like a keyboard, but this would easily work for a heavier item. Very easy to use and move. The portable electronic keyboard stand by IA Stands is almost ready for use when you take it out of the box. The locking handle, located at the center of the stand, controls the opening and closing of the stand. An arm extension and phone mount are included with the stand. The arm extension mounts to the stand and the phone/tablet holder attaches to the arm extension. No instructions, but easy to figure out. The stand's height adjusts from 10.6" to 36.2" for playing whether seated or standing. The width of the stand holds a variety of keyboard sizes with a maximum weight of 66lbs. Easy to set up, take down, and take with you to town.Pun absolutely intended. This stand is rock solid and allows you to solidly rock! My buddies and I love to jam every once in a while and this stand has held up during even the most carried away of times. Who doesn’t love pretending to be a famous rock star playing in front of thousands of fans?? Once you get into that mindset you are more likely to slam than tickle the ivories. This stand has had no trouble keeping up with us and our jam sessions. My keyboard is about 35 pounds, and it doesn’t budge at all. I was a little bit nervous about using it on carpet as that tends to be a less steady surface in my experience, but had absolutely no problem. The packaging and set up were a dream, so no frustrations while getting started. I don’t have any midi apps, or anything, so mostly using the phone stand to look up videos of actual rock stars for inspiration. The phone stand has been just as steady for me, and looks like it will hold a small tablet as well if there’s something more serious you need to use it for. The few times I’ve packed it up and taken it out my home have been quick and easy. I think this would work for real life gigs just as well as my fake ones.An excellent stand to support any medium or large size keyboard. The legs are double reinforced making it extremely sturdy and durable. There are two handles/knobs on the frame which quickly tighten and release. The stand's height can also be easily adjusted to accommodate the height of the user and is then easily tightened and the height is held in place with these handles/knobs. The stand also comes with a document/sheet holder (not pictured) that quickly clips to the stand.A quality stand to support your keyboard. This is a nice solid, sturdy stand. I've had stands in the past that were terrible and wobbly and plain annoying so I was hopeful this would be a better choice and it is. Just unfold the legs and you're ready to go. The tablet holder is a nice feature as my youngest daughter is learning piano and that is a huge benefit while she is playing on her keyboard so she can follow along with tutorials. This holds the keyboard without any wobble and is a nice, sturdy, quality stand. Very happy with it.
