This turned out to be even better than expected. I was a bit nervous because of the reviews on the older models from FingerBallet, but then I found this model and the reviews were much better, so I figured I'd give it a shot.For reference, as a young man I took something like 10 years of piano lessons. I know my way around a piano, playing on everything from standard uprights to cabinet grands to grand pianos.This FingerBallet model is the closest thing to an actual piano I have played. I've owned a few keyboards before, but none of them have come close. So let's go through the details.*Keys - OK, nothing will EVER feel like real piano keys, but this model comes pretty close. Rather than feeling like "buttons" like some keyboards do, this one offers a decent amount of resistance so you can really dial in on inflection, playing notes either softly or with strength. If you have played piano for any length of time you'll easily be able to tell the difference from a real piano, but this resistance certainly makes the experience more authentic and controllable. Therefore, personally, I would offer a 7 or 8 out of 10 on the way the keys feel to me.*Sound - the sound is absolutely beautiful. The speakers are nice and can fill a room with the sound. I don't really mess with the other instrument sounds - I just keep it set on Grand Piano, and it does a great job emulating this sound. I will say that you'll have to adjust your play style a little - the lower octaves can have a tendency to come across a little stronger, but I have found that I have easily adapted. overall, I'm impressed by how much it sounds like I'm playing an actual piano.*Execution - Yes, the keys are very touch responsive and will play loudly when pressed hard, quiet when pressed softly. You're able to generate a great amount of inflection with the keys.*Function - the keyboard is kept simple and streamlined. You won't find 187 different sounds and 579 beats and whatever else - you'll find volume, a few dozen simple sounds, a metronome, and basic things like that. That's exactly what I wanted - not some kind of crazy synthesizer. Just a piano emulator.*Pedal - yes, it has a sustain pedal. While its function adds the beautiful layer to the music that it's supposed to, physically the pedal is nothing impressive. It's a little square that sits on the floor, and while it's got a grip surface on the bottom it can slide around a little. This is the only part that feels cheap. But again, it works, and it adds the correct sustain to the playing.*Portability/Foldability - The folding mechanism is easy to operate. The entire unit fits nicely into the bag and is easily carried.Overall, it has turned out even better than expected. I am 100% satisfied and will continue to practice on it.
