Both downhill and enduro racers require durable cycling shoes that are protective and offer control through the pedals, and that's what the Gravita Tensor Cycling Shoe has to offer. It's a lightweight and form-fitting gravity mountain bike shoe geared up for racing. Fi'zi:k calls it a unicorn because of its nimble, yet rugged, design that ticks off everything on our list for desirability. For us, it's a uniquely customized shoe that offers the pedal interface, stability, and control we need for a good ride or race.
Race-ready: When setting out to develop a race-ready gravity MTB shoe, the feedback we received from top professional athletes was pretty clear: both downhill and enduro racers alike desire a protective and durable shoe to enhance bike control through the pedals.
But beyond control, they also wanted the lightweight performance and precise fit found in a more performance- oriented pair, a combination lacking in most shoes for gravity mountain biking.
Outsole and riding control: the Gravita outsole provides the type of shoe-to-pedal interface you need for fast and aggressive gravity riding, combining the stickiest Vibram XS Trek Evo rubber compound with a specific zonal lug pattern.
Clip-in version: this clip-in version is stiffer than its flat counterpart for better power transfer through the entire pedal stroke, improving pedalling efficiency.
Performance-oriented precision fit: we developed an ergonomic lace-up pattern that cradles the foot and spreads tension evenly throughout the pedal stroke. A Powerstrap over the instep secures the fit, stabilizing the plantar arch and locking the heel in place while also keeping laces in check.
Great shoe! My new go-to. Light, comfortable, just stiff enough, well ventilated, SHOE LACES! They are easy to clean, break in instantly, and I've only got a couple hundred miles on them, but they still look new. I've been wearing ME7s for years, but have had a tough time finding them these days. I like these more!
