Pro keyboardist here. I was intrigued by the low price and the COOL design (why oh why hasn't this been done earlier!?). So I took a shot. I know this is inexpensive so I didn't expect much, but honestly the convenience of toting a light, not-way-too-long bag in/out of the car was enough to pull the trigger. I expected cheap workings, tinny sound, and the most basic of features.BOY was I wrong! This thing is ingeniously loaded with sounds (over 120), rhythms, even 4 different metronome sounds! Plus you can USB it into a MIDI environment (i.e. DAI/DAW) and even pump external tones (say from Logic or GarageBand) back into it. It charges with USB so no power chord needed! Very light, and very thin... this is a superb practice instrument. The pianos sound frankly awesome for this type of instrument. Now... yes, the speakers are kind of tinny but they ARE very loud. All I've had to do is to amp 'em up to a decent one (need a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter) and wow! They sound great when an amp brings out all the lower frequencies (which aren't really pronounced on the in-house speakers). This piano also comes with a chintzy plastic-y pedal (used for sustain for me), but again it works and it's in line with lightness and portability. Also comes with an adequate music stand (slots in), airplane-style cheap headphones (but hey, you get 'em), even a laminated key ID chart!I will tell you that this is totally on the ball, these guys were thinking out of the box. And best of all the thing folds in HALF and stores in a molded bag no larger than maybe a trumpet case! How great you can easily slide this into any vehicle without the "too long" problems! And it's light as I said. Now all this understanding, this is obviously meant for beginner or new students. The keys are textured and "fake weighted" like some synths out there - nothing like a real piano feel, but there IS a decent resistance and even velocity (i.e hit light/soft, hit harder/louder). Amazing frankly. And anyone who knows a thing or two about sound can wire this thing up to sound almost as good as any expensive e-piano out there, really! (I just used it at a gig and through my Fender amp with some EQ it was stunningly realistic!).For beginners and the like this is awesome. For seasoned players (like me) this is IDEAL for taking to informal practices (not dress rehearsals) popping out and setting up. I thought I'd use this for a bit, laugh at the earnest effort, and stow or sell. Nope! Until someone comes out with a tech upgrade or whatnot, this thing will work very very well to avoid lugging your heavy stuff to practices etc. And again, with some sound know-how you could get away with using it for performances IMHO. I love this thing... it'll never replace my main pianos at home, but traveling around for practice - you bet.Awesome design, and pretty darn good build. What's not to like at that price?
